Art Department New York 2017

Year 12 and 13 art students took part in a residential to New York. During our stay we visited the Museum of Modern Art, The Natural History Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Empire State Building, Times Square, Central Park and the Rockefeller Centre. The staff and students had a brilliant time and although it snowed on the last day many of us did not want to come home.

The students were excellent ambassadors for the academy. They were attentive and enthusiastic and were a pleasure to be around.

Student comments:

I learnt new styles and meanings behind the development of styles. I also learnt about new artists such as Nan Goldin, whose work I now love!” Harri Logue, Year 12

We went to the Empire State Building at night and the view was amazing”, Tanya Gates, Year 13
