Artists from Corby's Lodge Park Academy exhibit at the Alfred East Art Gallery in Kettering
A number of Year 11 GCSE and Year 13 A level art students at Corby's Lodge Park Academy, part of the David Ross Education Trust, have been selected to exhibit their art and photography work in the Alfred East Art Gallery in Kettering.
As part of the new ‘RA250 UK’ exhibit, a celebration of 250 years of the Royal Academy of Arts, the gallery has opened its Long Hall to share local talent from neighbouring schools.
The new exhibition runs until March this year and Lodge Park Academy students are very proud of their achievements.
Sadie Carder, a Year 13 student at Lodge Park Academy, said: “I cannot believe that I am exhibiting my work in a real art gallery!
“I am extremely proud and I hope to exhibit more of my own work in the future. Studying at Lodge Park Academy has inspired my artistic talents and I love the fact that we get these kinds of opportunities.”
Abbie Owen, Head of Art at Lodge Park Academy, said: “It is a real honour to exhibit in the same space as Royal Academicians. Our students’ work looks amazing in this setting.
“As visitors will see, the arts and cultural enrichment are at the very heart of being a school within the David Ross Education Trust.”
