Corby’s Lodge Park Academy launches football academy
Corby’s Lodge Park Academy, part of the David Ross Education Trust, has joined forces with Stamford AFC to launch a new football academy for Sixth Form students.
The Lodge Park Football Academy, due to launch in September 2018, will allow students to sustain their academic achievements through a range of A Level and BTEC courses on offer at the school, whilst encouraging the development of their sporting talents.
As part of the exclusive scholarship programme, selected students will receive expert coaching from UEFA licensed coaches and will take part in a full range of technical, tactical and video analysis sessions to help them develop better tactical understanding.
Scholars will also have the opportunity to compete in regular fixtures and work towards receiving their FA coaching qualifications.
Alice Smyth, Director of Sport at Lodge Park Academy, said: “The Lodge Park Football Academy is the next step in developing our inspirational sports enrichment programme, which offers our students a wide range of incredible sporting and educational experiences.
“This will be an incredible opportunity for Sixth Form students beginning their studies in September 2018 to take part in a football development programme alongside their academic studies at Lodge Park.”
The Lodge Park Academy Football Academy is one of the many incredible sporting opportunities available to students as part of the David Ross Education Trust’s pioneering enrichment programme.
By providing an array of outstanding opportunities, the Trust supports talented athletes by encouraging them to excel at the highest of standards. Students across the Trust have participated at high profile sporting events in front of Olympic greats such as Sir Steve Redgrave and Rebecca Adlington, and have also benefitted from high-quality fixtures, sports tours in Europe, funded trips to major tournaments and sports bursaries and scholarships.
This will be the third football academy within the Trust, with scholars from Loughborough’s Charnwood College and Northampton’s Malcolm Arnold Academyreceiving football scholarships within the USA, and securing their places at some of the country’s top universities.
