Lodge Park maintains momentum

Students from Lodge Park Academy are again celebrating after obtaining a very strong set of GCSE results.

Nearly half of all students achieved the key government target of five A*-C grades, including maths and English, which is up slightly on last year’s results.

The success comes at the end of a year which has seen the academy open a new multi-million pound building, achieve its best A-Level results in a generation and gain recognition from national cultural and sporting organisations for its commitment to enriching students’ education.

Alison Hayes, Principal, said: “There is much to be very proud of at Lodge Park Academy.

“Since last September our students have continually impressed at all levels, and these GCSE results finish off the academic year perfectly.

Among those celebrating was Joe Bradshaw, who achieved 1 A* and 8As and Kaitlin Johnson, who achieved 3 A*s, 5As and 1 B

Joe commented: “I am in total shock! I wasn’t expecting to achieve such high grades and so I feel very proud.

Kaitlin said: “I am really happy and relieved at the same time. All the hard work has paid off and I cannot wait to join the sixth form here at Lodge Park.”

Wendy Marshall, Chief Executive of the David Ross Education Trust, said:

“I am delighted that Lodge Park has maintained its academic progress.

“The academy is reaping the benefits of the dedication and commitment of its staff and students.

“There is definitely a very positive momentum at this academy, and it is no wonder that in September Lodge Park will be welcoming one of its largest intakes in recent years.”
