Lodge Park Academy

Lodge Park Academy understands the importance of a strong academic foundation. Our academy offers a diverse curriculum and enrichment offering to create well-rounded and confident students.

Admissions

In this section you can find out all about how to apply for a place at Lodge Park Academy.

We are very ambitious for our students; we challenge them to reach their academic, creative, personal and sporting best. Our school boasts impeccable behaviour and disruption-free lessons. Our school is a safe place where any bullying is dealt with swiftly and firmly.  Our school is a caring, protective and warm place – we are a family.

We hope you will consider the LPA family for your child. Admissions for September 2022 are now closed, although late applications can be made. Please contact the admissions team at North Northamptonshire Council or see below. North Northamptonshire Council also co-ordinate all in-year admissions.

We are confident we can match the best schools in Corby, Kettering and surrounding towns and we are delighted that Ofsted have now confirmed that we are GOOD for leadership and Management, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development and Sixth Form. We remain 'Requires Improvement' overall, because we have areas to develop in our curriculum, but we are determined to keep moving onwards and upwards.

How to apply for a place

The County Council organises admissions for students who are moving from year six into year seven. They also coordinate all in-year admissions, for all year groups except Year 12 and 13, for Lodge Park Academy.

The phone number for North Northamptonshire Council 0300 126 1000 (there will then be an option for choosing School Admissions). Or click this link.

Parents can also email any enquiries to admissions@northamptonshire.gov.uk.

The Council requires parents to make an on-line admission for both normal and mid-year admissions. Please visit the County Council website HERE.

We do not require parents to complete a supplementary application form as some other schools do, nor do we ask students to complete an ability test in order to gain a place. We believe that all children, regardless of prior attainment or ability, can succeed at Lodge Park Academy and everyone is welcome. We also have a superb track record supporting students with EHCPs and medical needs. If your child has an EHCP, a special educational need or a medical need, please contact our SENCO Mr Storey for more information about September 2022 entry for your child and how we will support them to flourish.

In Year Admissions

In-year admissions applications should be made via North Northamptonshire Council. We will accept admissions up to the Published Admission Number of the respective year group at the point of entry. In the event that this would cause prejudice to the provision of efficient education or the efficient use of resources it may be necessary to refuse a place although the year group has not reached the school's published admission number. If there are more applications than places then the oversubscription criteria will be used to decide who should be offered the place. If it is necessary to refuse a place then you will be informed of your right of appeal.

Parents will have the right of appeal to an Independent Appeal Panel if they are dissatisfied with an admission decision of Lodge Park Academy.

The Appeal Panel will be independent of the Academy. The arrangements for Appeals will be in line with the Code of Practice on School Admission Appeals published by the Department for Education. The determination of the Appeal Panel will be made in accordance with the Code of Practice on School Admission Appeals and is binding on all parties. The Academy will prepare guidance for parents about how the appeals process will work and will provide parents with a named contact who can answer any questions parents may have about the process.
